February Week 3: INTEGRITY – Proving Reliability Through Action

"Integrity is not a conditional word. It doesn’t blow in the wind or change with the weather. It is your inner image of yourself, and if you look in there and see a man who won’t cheat, then you know he never will." – John D. MacDonald

At Gracie Humaitá Jiu-Jitsu Bolton, integrity is at the core of everything we teach. In our kids’ Jiu-Jitsu classes in Bolton, we emphasize that integrity is about proving reliability through action. It’s not just about saying the right things—it’s about doing them.

In Jiu-Jitsu, integrity means showing up consistently, working hard, and staying true to your commitments. It’s about treating your training partners with respect, listening to your coaches, and pushing yourself to improve. When students take action to achieve their goals, they prove they are dependable and trustworthy.

Integrity also means being reliable and consistent. If you commit to training, you show up prepared to work hard. If you make a promise to help a teammate, you follow through. By doing what’s right, even when it’s difficult, students build respect and trust with those around them.

Ask your child:

  1. How does integrity affect your progress in Jiu-Jitsu?
  2. Why is it important to be reliable to your teammates?
  3. How can you show integrity both on and off the mats?

At Gracie Humaitá Jiu-Jitsu Bolton, we teach students to be disciplined, honest, and reliable. Enroll your child in our kids’ Jiu-Jitsu classes in Bolton to help them build confidence, respect, and integrity!
